MREC Brokers Supervision 1 1/5 Topic: I 1243-0692

CE AND LICENSE RENEWAL

All Maryland Real Estate Licensees MUST have their documented continuing education requirements met, 30 days PRIOR to their license renewal date.  This is a statewide mandate from the Department of Labor Licensing & Regulation. If a licensee falls short of this mandate, a $168 will be imposed from DLLR.  We will continue to send reminders on this important change, but we do recommend that you set up reminder protocols on your business calendars!

Attendance Regulations

GBBR adheres to the policies set forth from the Maryland Real Estate Commission. Click here to review the MDREC Classroom Course Requirements.
Please allow adequate time upon arrival to sign-in and receive course materials, before the class begins.

Randy Pomfrey

I teach initial licensure and renewal classes with one goal in mind: helping agents understand how real estate actually works once you’re out of the classroom. I’m a full-time, active agent, not a career instructor, and everything I teach is grounded in real transactions, real contracts, and real situations that can either protect your license or put it at risk. This isn’t about memorizing rules to pass a test — it’s about knowing how to make good decisions when things get messy (because they will).

My classes are practical, direct, and example-driven. We cover compliance, ethics, and risk management, but always through the lens of how agents operate in the real world — under pressure, with clients, deadlines, and money on the line. Whether you’re getting licensed or renewing, you’ll leave with clearer judgment, better instincts, and a stronger understanding of how to stay compliant and effective in today’s market.

Cancellations & Refund Policy

GBBR may cancel courses due to low registration up to two days prior to the date of the class. In the event that GBBR must cancel a course, all those who registered will be contacted and will be offered the option of receiving a refund or transferring your payment/credit to another class.

GBBR does not issue refunds for education courses, â€‹except when the course is canceled by GBBR. Individuals who miss a program without submitting written notification 24 hours prior to the course date will be charged for the course.

If you find it necessary to cancel your course registration, you must submit a notice in writing at least 24 hours prior to the course. Persons who are able to document compliance with the written notification requirement will receive a credit voucher that may be applied to any future education program, or as a credit toward annual dues or to purchase retail items from the GBBR REALTOR® Store.

Notice of changes or cancellation of a CE class due to inclement weather will be posted to the home page of the GBBR website (www.gbbr.org) as early as possible on the same day of the scheduled course.
